The History of Newtons Solicitors’ Penrith Office
Newtons Solicitors was modestly founded by Chris Newton (Managing Director) in his attic 15 years ago and now boasts 10 offices across North Yorkshire, County Durham, and Cumbria. A lover of the Lakes with strong ties in the community, Cumbria was the natural next step for Chris when growing the business, which prides itself on offering a local presence for local people.
Bill Neville (Senior Private Client Solicitor) and Eden Goldie (Senior Conveyancer) were responsible for opening the office and have recently welcomed Dan Warwick (Senior Commercial Solicitor).
The Penrith Team
Eden says, “The last year has been rewarding on so many levels, and it’s so nice to see my hopes for the property department come to fruition. I am Cumbrian born and raised but have always felt like buying and selling property is treated with a suited and booted approach here that almost takes away from such an important part of a person’s life. I thrive on complex cases and finding a resolution that suits my clients, but I want to take the stress of such matters away from them so they can enjoy the process as much as possible. With the support of my fantastic assistant Peter, I really do think that I have achieved what I wanted to, and I can’t wait to continue that growth.”
Since opening, the Penrith team have been dedicated to becoming part of the community that means so much to them, raising money for local charity Eden Valley Hospice and sponsoring the much-loved May Day Parade.
Reflecting on the year and his own hopes for the office, Bill comments “I was very excited to be given the opportunity to head up the Penrith office. I moved here 3 years ago when my son was born and have loved life in the Lakes so far. It’s hard to believe the office has been open a year – time has flown! In that time, we have gradually established ourselves in the area and will continue to strive to offer a local presence for local people. I am very proud of the high-quality service we provide and look forward to engaging further with clients, other professionals, and the wider community as we continue to grow.”
Looking ahead, the Penrith team will continue to focus on bringing high quality, professional and personal legal advice to the area, while remaining committed to adding value to the community.
